Using techniques learned in class, you’ll construct a complete ink and watercolor sketch of a rich city scene that includes vehicles, trees and furnishings. Remember to relax, work step-by-step, and enjoy the process—this is a judgement-free zone.
Your project for this class will be to build a complete sketch of a lively urban scene, step-by-step, using a reference photo I’ll provide or one of your own. Better yet, head outdoors and capture a scene you like on-the-spot! Remember to relax, work step-by-step, and enjoy the process—this is a judgement-free zone.
Your project for this class is to create a loose, lively sketch of a group of seven to ten people (or more!) using the easy, step-by-step approach you learned in this class. Your sketch can be drawn by watching people on location, from a photo, an internet image or from your imagination. Remember to relax and enjoy the process—this is a judgement-free zone.
Your class project is to do a finished portrait in coloured pencils from photo reference.
Whether you’re drawing characters to go along with Jazza’s or working from your own idea, use the project space to share your final presentation and the process you followed to get there.
At the end of each main lesson, Jazza will suggest a small exercise to help you practice drawing the form and function of different muscle groups. Take the time between lessons to do this work, as it will all build together into your final illustrations! Edit your project to share these drawings along the way—along with anything you’re struggling with or are particularly proud of—so we can all feel like we’re learning and practicing together.
