In this course you will we will be re-creating 10 iconic video game characters in Maya, learning the basics of polygonal modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation. In addition, you will be taking the knowledge you learn to create your own original characters. The final assignment of the entire course will be to design your own original iconic 3d character.

Yishu Ci is joining us this month to take us through his process of creating characters through line drawing, and finalizing them with a simple colored render treatment.

Today we’ll learn the basics of cartoon chibi portrait illustration. We’ll start by figuring out the face proportions and will make the sketch along the way.
