The authors consider Leonardo's treatises and their aftermath, science experiments, and fields of art and science based on two abundant subjects.
The book is divided into two main sections: Nature and Natural Properties, which includes not only articles on geology, plants, and the properties of water, but also Leonardo's Treatise on Painting on how to show the most natural light and color in paintings. The second half of the book on Architecture highlights comparisons of Leonardo's architectural designs to those by other architects, town planning, discussions of authorship, and new findings on well-studied designs.
