3D-model – Chair Betula by Apical Reform
The chair, a sinuous structure made entirely out of birch ply, is an example of fluid decontructivism that is pleasing aesthetically and comforting ergonomically. Designe by Apical Reform – Amrish Patel, Darshan Soni, Maharshi Bhattacharya. The fluid form of the Betula was derived from a functional posture and the idea of continuity of the lines. The technique of layering is one of the key factors that adds to the aura of the chair and further beautifies the the form. Smooth flowing lines run along the form to give the impression of giving rise to a cantilevered, sculptured structure that is also pleasing to the eyes.
